What is senior night?
Senior night is a tradition in high school and college sports that honors the athletes playing their last home game. Before the game, each senior is introduced, usually walks out with their family, and receives flowers, a gift or a keepsake while teammates and fans cheer.

It's the same tradition. In college it's a send-off for athletes finishing their college career, and it's often called senior day, especially when the game is played in the afternoon.

Every sport has its own traditions. Here's one idea for each.
Baseball and softball

Senior night questions
How far ahead should I order senior night gifts?
Plan on 4–6 weeks before senior night. Our custom pieces need about 3 weeks after you approve the proof, so 3 weeks is the minimum. If senior night is closer than that, our keepsake buying guide covers your options.
What game should we pick for senior night?
Pick the game that will mean the most to the seniors: usually their last home game or the regular-season conference finale. When I coached, we held senior night against a rival, and those were very emotional games. (Most teams like to schedule it for a game they expect to win, though!)
What do parents do for senior night?
Parents usually present flowers, a card with a handwritten message, and a keepsake. Many also set up a senior table with memories from youth sports through senior year. Some booster clubs pay for senior gifts, so check with your school before you buy. Other teams save the big gift for the end-of-season banquet. Planning early helps whether you're a football mom, a volleyball mom or a soccer mom.

What is a senior basket?
Many schools present each senior athlete with a basket of gifts on senior night, usually a blanket, a T-shirt, a hat and other goodies. It started as a way to thank seniors for their hard work and send them off on a high note.
